Denise K. Beronio 

Administrator and Diversity and Inclusion Liaison

Denise is a graduate from the Univeristy of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor's degree in Business Management and a minor in Marketing. She brings 27 years of private sector experience with focus' in finance, real estate, and small business management & development. She has spent over 30 years working with youth outdoors as a National Examiner with the United States Pony Club - the largest equestrian youth organization in the world. Denise is passionate about promoting health and wellness through Nevada’s vast outdoor recreational opportunities and improving quality of life for residents. Her focus is on conservation and sustainability, while continuing to promote economic vitality through state and local partnerships. As Division Administrator, she is committed to creating pathways for communities to attract new outdoor recreation business and providing thoughtful planning for their residents.

Denise is an avid big game hunter and fisherman, enjoys time in the back country of Nevada camping with friends and family, and she is also a lifelong equestrian.

Elisabeth Johnson

As Deputy Administrator of NDOR, Elisabeth works to advance and promote sustainable, world-class outdoor recreation opportunities across Nevada. Before her current role, Elisabeth was NDOR’s Program Officer, leading the division’s work with non-motorized trail organizations, increasing community capacity for outdoor recreation and stewardship in order to advance Nevada’s outdoor recreation economy.
Prior to her service to the State of Nevada, she worked in the outdoor industry for over 15 years, collaborating with global outdoor retail companies and local, grassroots trail organizations. 

Elisabeth  is an avid outdoorswoman and loves the breadth of amazing terrain and outdoor recreation activities that Nevada has to offer. She is a passionate skier, mountain biker, trail runner and discoverer of “new-to-her” corners of the state. 
 

Kendal Scott

Kendal has over a decade of experience developing outdoor education programs and leading experiential learning for youth across Washington, Idaho, Alaska, Utah, California, and Nevada. Growing up a short walk from the Puget Sound in western Washington, Kendal has always been drawn to the water and is lucky enough to now call the shores of Lake Tahoe home. She enjoys long river trips living out of a canoe, snowboarding, backpacking, and searching the mountains and desert for wildflowers.

Chelsea, a seasoned adventurer and advocate, has spent the past five years calling Nevada home, marking a settling point after a decade of traversing the globe. Beyond her professional endeavors, Chelsea thrives on exploring Nevada's diverse trails and contributing to various advocacy initiatives. For the past 5 years, she has served as president of a local advocacy group dedicated to cultivating sustainable trails in Carson City, NV, showcasing her commitment to community betterment.

Jasmina Sekanovich

Jasmina has been an integral member of the NDOR team since 2023. In her capacity, she oversees the management of the Nevada Trail Finder website, crafts informative kiosk maps, and expertly operates drones for various conservation projects. Beyond her professional pursuits, Jasmina finds joy in a diverse array of hobbies, including hiking, camping, horseback riding, and snowboarding. Her love for the outdoors is not just a job but a way of life. For all your trail mapping needs, Jasmina is your go-to person. Kaden Barmore

Growing up in Reno, Kaden graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2018. From there he moved to Flagstaff, AZ to attend the National Park Service Law Enforcement Academy. Realizing that he was more interested in conservation than law enforcement, Kaden moved back to Reno and began work as a recreation technician for the Nevada Off-Highway Vehicles Program. During his time with Nevada OHV, Kaden found a deep appreciation for outdoor recreation in Nevada. This appreciation led to positions with the Tahoe Rim Trail Association and Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful. In 2023 Kaden graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Masters in Natural and Cultural Resource Communication.   

When not in the office, Kaden can be found somewhere in the backcountry, exploring the backroads of Nevada, hiking, or mountain biking. During the colder months he is skiing and snowshoeing in the Sierras.   

Katy Huneycutt 

Off-Highway Vehicles Managment Analyst

Growing up in a small mountain town in Washington, Katy developed a deep love and appreciation for nature, often spending her time off-roading and exploring the outdoors. After moving to Nevada in 2014, her goal was to work for the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Since starting her state career in 2021, Katy has served in various state roles, including accounting, assisting the community with labor law issues for the Labor Commissioner, and processing contracts and supplemental payments for Nevada Medicaid.

Now that Katy is in her dream role at DCNR, she is excited to combine her fiscal expertise with her passion for preserving Nevada's natural beauty. Outside of work, one can find her watching her son ride dirt bikes, hiking, camping, or searching for hidden hot springs in the Nevada wilderness.
